Also the work that the KOBS help with – your children – the Kids of Brookside are taking on more and more jobs, helping out with events too!

What do we do?

We help organise events to raise funds for the school, such as the Christmas Bazaar, Summer Fete, school discos etc. We also try and give a hand in the school when help is needed for different events

Where do we meet?

We usually meet on a Wednesday evening, once a month, at 8pm in various venues. The meetings are always ‘open house’ where anyone can attend, whether it’s for just one meeting or more. Any new ideas or help are greatly accepted and welcomed! It’s even a great opportunities to meet other school parents, over the occasional glass of lemonade.

We have a ‘Friends of Brookside School’ facebook page which is regularly updated with all events and meeting details, and also a FOBS noticeboard located in the glass corridor by EYFS and KS1 classes.

We even have an additional facebook page for people who would like to be more involved in the whole process, but may not be able to turn up to all meeting. You can be added to this, but you need to request being added by Ami Holder or another FOBS member.

Why do we meet?

With our help we provide ‘extras’ for the children at Brookside. Examples of where some of the help has gone this year – Easter Rocks event, which allowed children to have a chocolate egg hunt with hot cross buns free of charge, recently providing funds to Waddeston Manor EYFS trip which will reduce the cost for parents by nearly £300, and paying for the new school stage which will be used often by all the children (over £3000!).  Most recently we donated a new full sized pool table for the Breakfast club.

What we need is your help & support?

To continue this assistance for our children’s benefit, please think about giving some of your time in helping the FoBS committee. You don’t have to come to every meeting, or help out at every event, but every little helps.

If you can’t make a meeting, why not get in touch with one of the committee members if you have any suggestions or can spare some time to help the school at events or have any contacts that may be useful to help raise funds. The more effort and involvement that we all contribute to the school, the more benefits our children receive.
